This is the Canon Digital Rebel XT:

I purchased this camera during the winter of my Freshman year at college. I had decided to get a Canon because I had been using my mothers Canon Rebel (film camera) for the past few years. After researching prices on the internet for a few days, I decided to pick up the Canon Digital Rebel XT kit, which came with a case, the lens, a UV filter and all of the necessities. When I pulled it out of the box, I couldn't wait to start shooting.

A few nice features about this camera helped aid in my decision to purchase it as well. One key feature was for it's usability. After using my mothers camera for quite some time, I had figured out how to navigate around the camera rather easily. The Canon Digital Rebel XT was not much different in its ease of usability. This allows it to be used by novices, aspiring photographers and professionals alike. (Even though it is mostly geared towards novices and aspiring photographers)
The camera is ergonomic in that you can access the settings dial, the on/off switch and the f-stop dial all with your middle and pointer fingers. On the settings dial, it allows you to adjust the Aperture, to select Manual Mode as well as select from 10 default camera settings.

On the back of the camera, are the rest of the buttons which aid in usability and navigation throughout the cameras settings. From here, you can select anything
from the cameras ISO to setting a timer. All of the buttons are labeled and easy to comprehend.
After using my camera for about a year an a half now, I have added to my collection of equipment as well. This includes 2 new lenses (28-90 mm and 75-300 mm), lens hoods, filters (UV and Circular Polarizer), extra memory cards, a Speed-light flash and a remote for my camera (For tripod use and bulb exposures)
All in all, I am very content with the decisions I have made so far and I hope to add more pieces to my collection in the years to come. If you are considering purchasing a Canon Digital Rebel I suggest you check one out for yourself, I do not think you will be disappointed.
Au Revoir.
